Robert Eggers' The Lighthouse (2019) traps two lighthouse keepers, played by Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson, on a remote New England island as isolation and superstition curdle into madness. Shot in stark black-and-white on 35mm, the film's hallucinatory, maritime-gothic atmosphere is a natural fit for Delort's dense, engraving-style linework.
