Florian Bertmer contributed three different deck designs to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, and Necromancer was one of them, appearing as an in-game unlockable in this regular green colorway. A separate, even more limited red variant of the design was also produced physically despite never appearing in the game. Because this run was produced exclusively for the game's development team and not for the public, it stands as a particularly rare crossover piece between officially licensed video game art and a collectible, ridable artist skate deck.
About the Artist
Florian Bertmer is a German illustrator best known for album artwork in the hardcore punk, grindcore, and metal scenes, with clients including Converge, Napalm Death, and Black Sabbath. His work spans movie posters for Alamo Drafthouse on films like Alien and Hellraiser, the sole cover art role for Mondo's Masters of the Universe toyline since 2018, and deck art for skateboard companies including Creature Skateboards. His style draws on influences ranging from Pushead's early aesthetic to Art Nouveau and occult imagery.
