Florian Bertmer is a German-born artist, illustrator and toy designer who is currently based in Los Angeles, California. He drew his first skull when he was 4 years old. His style embraces the macabre and Art Nouveau in equal amounts, and he takes inspiration from Alphonse Mucha as well as Pushead and Mike Mignola.
Self-described as enigmatic, his earlier work includes record covers and music merchandise for legendary hardcore and metal bands such as Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan, Napalm Death and more. His roster of clients expanded with time and experience to include screenprints and artwork for names such as Marvel, Toho, Mondo, Lucasfilm, Warner Brothers, Activision and more.
