Guillermo del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth (2006) weaves a dark fairy tale through the brutal backdrop of post-Civil War Spain, following a young girl who escapes into a mysterious, monster-filled underworld. Ise Ananphada's densely detailed print, titled “Princess of the Moon,” captures the film's haunting blend of childhood wonder and fascist-era horror — a compelling piece for collectors of dark fantasy and international cult cinema.
About the Artist
Based in Bangkok, Thailand, Ise Ananphada knows how to get in as many details per square inch as she possibly can. Her beautifully intricate creations are heightened by the sheer number of colors used in the silkscreening process, along with the likenesses that capture the spirit of each movie character.
